My plan: I’ll try to make a small portrait each day, in oils. I’ll start with black and white to practice values. After a while I’ll expand into the domain of colour, starting with a limited palette. Here, I’ll keep track of my progress. Feel free to feedback.

Colour: way more of a complexity management problem. I find it difficult to handle form, value and colour at the same time. There are just too many variables!

So, I decided to go back to black and white for a while.

So back to b&w again. The actual size is twice as small.

I’m curious, what type of paper do you use when painting in oil? Or are you using canvases for them. I don’t know anything about painting yet (• ▽ •;)

I love the first one in particular it’s very beautiful and even in a study piece you communicate so much

your   1st  portrait vibrates and has great mystery and narrative   your a good artist with subtle skills ,I on the other hand have no training and started this July I have since done the beginner course in drawing and completely agree with you about starting with greyscale I cant live in a photoshopped world  .
