If I may, I seemed to see a consistent hardness of edges, especially on the couple. Is that intentional?
and what are your intentions with the background?

Hi thanks for your comments sorry for the late reply. To be honest I’m not brilliant at the moment at using hard, soft or lost edges as Steve would say, but I’m trying to bring it into my work a little see the recent portrait below. The background was left plain as this was a commission and the client wanted it that way.
