Hello,

my name is Jacqueline though my friends call me Jax. I am 23 years old  and from Miami, FL. I started my “art” journey maybe less than a year ago and I want to take the proper steps to becoming a better artist for myself.

It would really help if anyone has any tips on how to get started on this program and make the best of my time and studies.

Hey Jax,

I’m new to the art journey too, but since you asked for tips on how to get started I’ll mention a couple. NMA is working on learning tracks, it’s a work-in-progress, but here’s the link you can use as a guide in the meantime: TRACKS.

The other tip is to use proper 70lb drawing paper for your assignments that involve graphite or charcoal. (I’m working through the beginner course right now, and I’ve discovered that cheap sketch paper is not up to the task.) Sketch paper seems A-OK for ballpoint pen.
