Developing the Mouth with Colored Pencils

In this lesson, you will learn how to render a mouth using colored pencils. Instructor Fei Meng will demonstrate her working process for establishing the structure and luscious qualities of the lips. You will learn to select the appropriate colors and create a color study; then, develop a fully rendered drawing.

This lesson belongs to the course Colored Pencil Portraiture. In this 10-week course, Fei Meng will walk you through the fundamentals needed to make captivating portrait drawings with colored pencils. You will learn how to create color palettes, execute delicate blending techniques, and develop a fully realized portrait from start to finish. Fei will demonstrate how to construct individual features of the face, like the eye, nose, mouth, and ear. After this course, you will have a concrete understanding of how to render with colored pencils to create your very own portrait drawings.
